ICFP Programming Contest
Tackle a strange new programming task with your team over 72 hours
The ICFP Programming Contest is a 72-hour online contest held each summer. A different team of organisers writes a new, often puzzle-like task each year, such as a virtual machine to reverse-engineer or an odd new language to program in. There is a 24-hour lightning round inside the full contest. Teams of any size submit solutions that are scored on a live leaderboard.

It rewards creative problem solving, quick tooling and teamwork far more than textbook algorithms. It suits experienced programmers, though anyone can enter.
You can use any language. Entry is free, and you register a team on that year's contest site. Winners are announced at the ICFP conference.
