CSS Hell

Bend CSS properties to push every peg onto its hole in 15 puzzles

CSS Hell is a set of 15 CSS puzzles. Each level shows pegs and holes, and every peg has to overlap its matching hole. You click a div to see its properties and add your own, but most divs accept only one or two extra properties and some are locked. Almost any CSS property is allowed, so the fun is finding the odd one that moves things where you need them.

About CSS Hell

It rewards a deep knowledge of the CSS spec: layout, positioning, transforms and the lesser-known corners of the language. It suits front-end developers who already know the basics and want something harder than a flexbox tutorial. Keeping the MDN CSS reference open is the maker's own advice.

It is free, runs in the browser and needs no account. There is a hint button, and full solutions are published in the project's GitHub repository. The maker tested it in Chrome, Firefox and Safari 17 or later.
