Flippy Bit and the Attack of the Hexadecimals from Base 16
Flip eight bits to shoot down falling hexadecimal numbers before they land
Flippy Bit is a small arcade game about converting between hexadecimal and binary. Hexadecimal numbers attack from the sky, and you defend by flipping a row of eight bits until the byte matches the value of an incoming number. There is deliberately no tutorial, so the first minute is about working out the rules.

About Flippy Bit and the Attack of the Hexadecimals from Base 16
It drills reading hex and setting bits quickly, a small but useful skill for anyone who deals with colours, bitmasks, memory dumps or networking. It suits students and developers who want hex-to-binary conversion to become automatic.
It is free, runs in the browser and needs no account. You can click the bits on screen or use the keyboard, where rows of eight keys such as 1 to 8 or Q to I map to the bits. The studio Q42 released it with a fake science backstory as an April Fools joke in 2014. The story is made up, but the game is real.
