HELLO HACKER

Hack through a chain of servers from a terminal to find a missing friend

HELLO HACKER is a story game played entirely in a simulated terminal. Your friend Alex, a security researcher, has gone missing, and you follow his trail through about ten linked corporate and government servers. You use commands such as ls, cat, nmap and ssh, crack passwords with wordlists, decode Base64 and hex, and query databases to find the clue that opens the next system.

About HELLO HACKER

It trains basic command-line habits and the idea of chaining small findings together, much like a beginner CTF. Hints are there when you get stuck, but using them costs you places on the global leaderboard.

It is a paid game on Steam for Windows and Linux, single player, with no account beyond Steam. The site estimates a first run at two to three hours.
