Topcoder
Compete in long optimization contests called Marathon Matches
Topcoder is one of the oldest competitive programming sites. Today its main contest for programmers is the Marathon Match, a long online contest. You get one hard optimization problem and a week or more to write code that scores as well as possible. Your score sets your place on a leaderboard.

About Topcoder
It trains heuristic search and careful tuning more than quick tricks. It suits experienced programmers who like long problems. In 2026 the site runs a Marathon Match tournament where the top 12 reach a 24-hour final.
Topcoder also works as a talent marketplace and hosts paid work challenges. Its short Single Round Matches were paused in 2024, and its old Arena app was shut down.
