You see a code snippet in your terminal and pick its language from four options with the 1 to 4 keys. Each round starts at 12 points, and the points drop every 2 seconds. Waiting shows more of the code but lowers your score. You have 5 lives, and a wrong guess or running out of time costs one.

About language-guesser
It trains quick recognition of languages from short pieces of code. It suits developers who know a handful of languages and like a timed challenge.
It is a small Rust project by ModProg that won the Terminal Jam hosted by Togglebit. Snippets come from MIT-licensed public GitHub repositories. Without an API token you can play only 60 files per hour. The README gives no install steps.
