In Colobot you lead a mission to find a new planet where people can settle and survive. You control robots, called bots, by writing programs for them in CBOT, a language close to C++ and Java. The game is real-time strategy, so your code has to keep your bots useful while things happen around them.

About Colobot
It teaches real programming ideas such as variables, loops, functions and error handling with try and catch. It suits beginners who want a game goal for their first lines of code.
The current version, Colobot: Gold Edition, is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. It is based on the original game by Epsitec and is kept up by TerranovaTeam and the community. You can download builds for Windows, Linux and macOS.
