About BOX-256
The real challenge is optimization. You try to use as few CPU cycles or lines of code as possible, with tricks like multithreading. It suits players who enjoy assembly puzzles like TIS-100.
You can play free in the browser, and a Windows download is also offered. The manual explains the fixed-width instruction set. You can share levels by link, and the official leaderboard is a thread on Reddit.
