CHRONOS

Escape a vault by working a terminal back through fifty years of computers

CHRONOS is a pair of terminal escape-room games about the history of computing. In CHRONOS I you are locked in an isolation chamber with one console and an hour before a purge. You start by typing help or cat README, then work backwards through about fifty years of machines to open the door. CHRONOS II has you follow something that walked out of the vault from machine to machine, through intrusions that really happened, and stands on its own.

About CHRONOS

Both are played entirely by typing commands, so they reward comfort with a shell and curiosity about older systems. They suit people who liked Hacknet or Terminus and want something tied to real computing history.

Both games are free, run in any modern browser on desktop or phone and need no account. They are also free apps on iOS and Android. One person built them.
