Screeps: Arena is an online strategy game where you never control your units directly. You write a JavaScript program that gathers resources, builds and fights on its own, and it plays short 1v1 matches against other players' code on the game servers. Matchmaking uses an arena rating, and other players' saved code means you can find a match at any time.

About Screeps: Arena
Each arena has its own rules and goals, and new arenas arrive each season, so you keep adapting your code. It trains JavaScript, planning and reacting to a changing game state. Community packages add TypeScript, Python, Rust, C# and other languages.
It is a paid game on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux, from the makers of Screeps World, and it left early access in November 2025. Only basic programming skills are needed to start.
