Battlecode
Program a robot army for MIT's yearly January contest
Battlecode is a programming contest where you write the brain of a robot army. Your code controls every robot in a real-time strategy game and runs on its own during a match. Two teams' bots fight on a map, and the better strategy wins.

About Battlecode
It trains pathfinding, planning with limited information, and communication between many units. Teams of 1 to 4 people compete. Anyone can enter, but some tournaments and prizes are only for students.
The contest runs every January and is free to enter. In 2026 you could write bots in Java or Python, and the top student teams played the final at MIT. The 2026 season ended on 31 January, and the organizers are preparing for 2027.
