Query the Murder
Write SQL against suspect and alibi tables to solve Agatha Christie murders
Query the Murder is a SQL detective game built on Agatha Christie novels. Each of its 18 cases, starting with Murder on the Orient Express, comes with its own database of suspects, alibis, timelines and evidence. You answer five questions per case by writing queries, and the schema stays on screen while you work.

About Query the Murder
The early cases teach SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY and BETWEEN. Later ones bring in JOINs, GROUP BY, subqueries and window functions, so it works as a path from first query to intermediate SQL. There is a page for teachers who want to use the cases in class.
Queries run against a real PostgreSQL database on the site's server, so a laptop or desktop browser is all you need. It is free with no account and no paywall. If you are stuck, a reveal option shows the correct SQL.
