You solve each case by writing SQL queries against police data. Later cases also ask you to search in-game websites and put the evidence together yourself.

The game is made for people with no SQL experience. You get a short SQL textbook of under 20 pages, error messages that point to mistakes in your query, and an assistant who answers questions. There are ten cases that grow longer and harder.
